Ever since Amanda's dance company debuted in July 2008, it has embarked upon a journey of exploration. Like the caravan stops on the Silk Road from which this troupe takes its name, Karavansaray brings together wide-ranging cultural influences from regions across the Near East: Turkey, Egypt, the Levant, Armenia, Greece, Persia, Central Asia, as well as America and the West. We honor the traditions of the regional dances we present, while respectfully blending and innovating as we take the dances onto the performance stage. The company performs both Folkloric and Oriental dance styles.

Karavansaray has performed at Willow Glen's "Dancin' on the Avenue," the Holiday Peace Fair, Taste of Tapestry San JoseMECDA Galas, Carnival of Stars, Ashkenaz's Cafe Bellie, Cypress Raks, Desert Dance Festival, HaflAdira, and Rakkasah West, among many other venues -- all to enthusiastic response. Catch Karavansaray at an upcoming performance listed Amanda's Performance Page.

Karavansaray rehearses on Monday nights in San Jose. Please contact Amanda if you are interested in joining the troupe.
